Judging Criteria

  • The competitor with the highest score in each category will win first place.

  • The competitors with the next highest scores will win second and third place.

  • In case of a tie, the competitor with the highest score under the criteria “Overall Impression” will win first place.

 

The following criteria will be used to judge each performance.


1. LOOK (IMAGE CONCEPT) – 30 POINTS

Based on:  Costume, makeup, and hairstyle. The look should match your performance concept and the musical composition.

 

2. ARTISTRY (STAGE PRESENCE) – 30 POINTS

Based on:  Emotional impact on the audience, staying in character throughout the entire performance, acting ability, facial expressions, and emotions.

 

3. TECHNIQUE – 30 POINTS (***FOR EXOTIC HARD Category – 50 POINTS)

Based on:  Proficiency in the technique of the tricks on the pole and the floor, including flexibility tricks, power tricks, and spinning tricks. Also based on control and execution of the tricks, transitions between tricks, and transitions from choreography to tricks and back.

 

4. CHOREOGRAPHY PERFORMANCE - 30 POINTS

Based on: Complexity of the choreography: musicality, complexity of dance vocabulary, density of the choreography, originality of the choreography, and use of the dance space.

 

5. CHOREOGRAPHY TECHNIQUE - 30 POINTS

Based on: Overall general dance technique, such as posture, placement and form of hands, feet, lines, and extensions, flexibility, etc. Also includes purity and cleanliness in the execution of your moves, expressiveness of the body, fluidity of the movement, and musicality of the performance.

 

6. OVERALL IMPRESSION - 30 POINTS

Based on: This criteria is the judge’s subjective impression of the whole performance and is very important!
